WaiBOP is pleased to announce the appointment of 4Z Academy of Futsal and FC Tauranga Moana to oversee the Waikato Rapids and Bay of Plenty Surge programmes respectively for the 2026 Youth Futsal Championships.

The two organisations were selected following a formal Request for Proposal process undertaken by WaiBOP Football Federation. The process invited suitably experienced organisations to present their plans for delivering the regional representative programmes, including player and coach development, team preparation and the overall experience provided to participants.

Following a thorough assessment of the proposals received, 4Z Academy of Futsal was selected to run the Waikato Rapids programme, while FC Tauranga Moana will take responsibility for the Bay of Plenty Surge programme.

Both organisations bring significant futsal knowledge, strong connections within their respective communities and a commitment to creating positive development opportunities for young players. Their appointments will provide each regional programme with clear leadership and a strong platform from which to prepare for the 2026 championships.

The Waikato Rapids and Bay of Plenty Surge programmes provide talented young futsal players from across the WaiBOP region with the opportunity to train and compete in a representative environment. Alongside the pursuit of strong tournament performances, the programmes are intended to support the long-term development of players, coaches and the game throughout Waikato and the Bay of Plenty.

WaiBOP Futsal will work closely with both delivery partners to ensure the programmes are aligned with the organisation’s wider futsal objectives and provide a consistent, well-organised and rewarding experience for everyone involved.

The appointments mark an important early step in preparations for the 2026 Youth Futsal Championships. Attention will now turn to programme planning, coaching structures and the processes through which players will have the opportunity to represent their region.

Details regarding selection trials have not yet been confirmed. Information covering trial dates, venues, eligible age groups and registration requirements will be released later in the year. Tournament dates and further championship information will also be announced once confirmed.
